Blyth’s UK‑Leading One‑Mile Road Race
The DK Mile Series brings together elite athletes, club runners, juniors, and newcomers for fast, exciting one‑mile racing on the streets of Blyth. Run by Blyth Running Club, a not‑for‑profit CASC‑registered organisation, the series is designed to be accessible, affordable, and welcoming to all.
Accessible & Inclusive
We are committed to keeping the DK Mile Series affordable so that cost is never a barrier to participation. Entry fees are set simply to cover essential running costs, with the wider development of the series supported through volunteer effort and external funding.

The DK Mile Series consistently ranks among the top Road Mile events in the UK, with athletes across multiple age groups achieving national‑level performances. This growing reputation is putting Blyth firmly on the athletics map.

Whether you’re chasing a PB, trying your first race, or supporting a junior runner, the DK Mile offers a friendly, safe, and professionally organised environment for everyone.
All athletes are issued with a race number, this is to be kept and worn for the entire series.
Replacement race numbers will be £1.00 each.
Runners are set off in ability related waves, this will be indicated on your race number.
As the series progresses, you may be placed in different Waves, only if your ability significantly changes.
Race may be split into heats and on completion of all heats the results will be combined and published as one race.
Please consider Timing, Marshalling, or Number Logging at some point if you are unable to run.

‘Official Race’ Series
consists of 6 races.
First Friday of each month April - September 7.00pm start.
Register via Run Events (formerly Run Britain) from as little as 84p per race. Based on being a full member of Affiliated Club and running all 6.
Results will qualify for Power of 10
FREE ’Training’ sessions (Accurately Timed)
Monthly, all year round.
On selected Sundays 10.00am start.
These are FREE, but results will NOT qualify for Power of 10.
